Women will see/hear the Wynn name, and have an instant visceral negative reaction, and will push to book elsewhere. And with any type of professional booking, companies will not want to have their brand associated with Wynn (and it was likely very much the other way before.)

And while getting rid of Steve eliminated the most immediate regulatory threat, when competing with other casino companies for licences, the name will be a negative. Will states and cities want to be associated with the name post scandal. Will politicians think they'll get static from their female constituents if they give a license to Wynn. It might be too late for MA to change it's mind. But any jurisdiction moving forward might think twice.

Face it, the name is now an anchor they have to drag around.
May I offer what I think is bit more realistic view? I think you are really selling "women" short if you think just seeing the "name" of Wynn will stop them from staying in those properties. How many times have you met the man, or any hotel owner/primary executive when you've stayed there, much less the ex-executive? I've stayed in a lot of them, and never, to my knowledge, had that experience.

Most women that I know are more concerned with the facility location, the amenities, the condition/cleanliness, and the perceived value when selecting a hotel than the previous owners sexcapades. As a way to look at it, did any women you know stop staying at Hilton because of the once famous party girl Paris?

I agree the man thought with the wrong head, but the fact remains his properties are first class. I don't think the name is as big of an anchor as you imply. Time will tell who is right...

How may hotels have you stayed in where the owner/executive WAS the brand?

If it was Jim Murren at MGM that had this issue, they could fire and replace him, and move on without to much of a problem. But for it's entire existence of Wynn Las Vegas, Steve Wynn has been the brand. In case you may have forgotten...

Name another Vegas property where the owner is this closely tied to the brand. LV Sands comes close, but none of their hotels are call "Adelson".

You mean Hilton and JW Marriott were not the brands? i just don't think women are as shallow or as frail as you imply that they would only see the Wynn name as being about being molested by the former owner/executive. Certainly my wife has the greatest influence on what hotel we stay at...I see the room for about 15 minutes before I go to sleep, and 15 minutes when I get up and get ready to leave in the morning. As long as it's clean, I'm good. But she doesn't worry that the former CEO will be around to rape her when she books it, regardless of chain.

I believe the women of today are aware and smart enough to see the distinction between the Wynn name and Wynn the man and his alleged actions, and recognize the beautiful properties have nothing to do with the darkness he is accused of doing. I do respect your opinion differs from mine though..

Conrad Hilton (the founder) died decades ago. His son and successor is 90 and long retired. And AFAIK neither of them as individuals participated to anywhere near the degree Steve Wynn did in advertising the brand. Same with Marriott.

Agreed. As if most of us didn't know that men, especially rich men, are effing pigs by the time we turned 25. Oh, and water is wet, and the sky is blue.

Nowadays, this (paternity) is easy to prove (or disprove.)

The rape is way past the statute of limitations. But what is paternity worth nowadays? Some 40-something YO women may be in for a big jackpot.
