Well. That article was largely content-free.

Forbes is Fake News. If you're rich and want to hurt someone, Forbes will write an article predicting how necessary it is for you to hurt them.

While the article was lacking, it didn't go far enough to describe the factors affecting tourism.

One big thing is that room rates on the weekends are really high.

The second is that the casinos have not actively promoted gaming to new gamblers who are curious about games like craps, roulette, and baccarat. New doesn't mean millennials, btw.

And Strip slots are tight.

Third, they also have completely ignored that the population is aging and there are no nightclubs that cater to anything other than EDM.... except maybe 1OAK (offering a hiphop/EDM blend). How many homogenous $400 a table clubs playing the same thumping EDM can one city sustain?

The answer is to create diversity to appeal to all populations.

Good lord. it's like that skin eating bacteria you read about on occasion. No matter how ugly it is it just keeps spreading.

And on topic, unlike the above post, does anyone know if casinos still have classes for games like craps? Waaaay back when we used to stay at Holiday Inn (Harrah's now) they had a craps table set up in the lobby by the front doors that was for lessons. It was a great way to get introduced to the game.

I brought this up before. The clubs are bringing millennials into the properties, and getting their information into the databases of the casinos' marketing departments. It's now incumbent on the casinos to come up with:

- Ways to attract the millennials to the existing gaming products

- New gaming products that are tailored to appeal to millenials.

Yes. Venetian runs a few training sessions on Craps for players. Don't know if Caesars or MGM brands still do it.
