when I was a kid in SoCal, you could have a single, a double, or a triple for $.05, $.10 or $.15

I wonder what the cost is now. If I remember correctly, I think it was .25, .50, and .75 when I was a kid in the 80’s. It’s all about that cylindrical scooper.

Not sure if there are Albertsons owned grocery stores in Las Vegas, but this may change things.

Thrifty ice cream

There is an Albertson's very close to where I am but they don't carry it yet.

I am reviving this thread, because after almost 2 months of living in Vegas, I have yet to find anywhere that sells Thrifty's ice cream by the carton. We've been buying it by the pint from a little shop a few minutes away, but we get it so much it can get pricey! Does anyone know of a grocery or convenience store anywhere in the valley that sells the pre-packaged 48 oz cartons?

My mom always would reminisce about thrifty ice cream costing 5 cents a scoop, after reading this it seems like a common memory for that generation.

Vons and Albertsons merged a while back. No Thrifty and no Blue Bell at this point. Spoilsports. At least not on Buffalo at Washington. Your mileage may vary.

Check out Blue Bunny. Albertsons, Smiths, Walmart. If you find this flavor buy it and any coffee/latte flavor you can find and mix them. When we lived in West Des Moines, Iowa our stores carried every flavor. BB is made in Le Mars, IA. North of Sioux City.

The listed locations on Yelp:

4825 E Charleston
5040 Boulder Highway
4747 N Rancho
2580 Wigwam Parkway
3655 S Durango

Some of these may be in convenience stores rather than stand alone locations. I know that the one on North Rancho is.
