I saw the 1 br suites the other night at the Trump---a joke. But, he does seem to stir the interest of the masses. My opinion is, there will be extreme winners and losers in the near LV future.

Note sure how serious of a threat, but growth of Indian casinos in California has to have a negative impact on tourism of Californians to Vegas.

I don't think the scrapping of the Crown project has anything to do with the overall health of vegas. Just look at the the conceptual pictures, it was completely ridiculous. Ugly, impersonal, and just weird. It looked like something out of a sci fi fantasy.

Trump is a joke too (that got built). I've seen a few units up for rent on craigslist for 2800+ (1bd). Good luck with that...

The North American Continent has 400 million people as well, China and India comprise a third of the worlds population at over 2 BILLION. So it makes sense that the Sands Macau has more to offer as far as quantity. The Venetian Macau is huge, you can fit our Venetian and Palazzo in it's front lake. I am actually excited to see it this summer.

Indian Casinos are not a threat either. Gambling in LV is less that 40% of the total attraction on the Strip. My friend at the Venetian says that the Hotel is over booked all the time and profits are way up, but gaming is down. So gaming is not our only industry anymore, tourism in general is becoming what it needs to be.

I've also read that the ODDS are WINNING are MUCH LESS in Macau. Something about the casinos rig it much more in their favor in Macau than Vegas.

Visitor volume to Macau is far less than "strip" casinos, but revenue far surpasses the "strip". ReviewJournal.com - Business - GAMBLING BEYOND NEVADA: Macau's gaming win: $10.3 billion

MANY years ago [before Sheriff was even born] I pushed a hack around the streets....I had a Chinese passenger in the cab and we were talking about the VERY new marketing campaign to the pacific rim countries....he told me WHY Las Vegas wanted Oriental players.... He said, "because the Oriental philosophy of gambling is simple....the odd on every game and on every hand of every game are exactly the same....50/50...either you win or you loose....so playing the hard 8 on craps is the same as playing any other bet....." Made sense to me.....

NO, cab driving is the present day equivalent of table-for-table dealing------------of course this means NOTHING to you, as a room reservation expert. DOES IT????????
