Yeah I would never pay over 5%, especially because when I sell I’m selling places worth 50-100% more than the average place. They can take it or leave it, they mostly suck anyway. I’ve only once had an agent any good at selling. I think next time I’ll be even cheaper, 4.5%, if you’re selling a $1M place you can take $20,000 for doing it, get real. They don’t even spend $1,000 on photos and 3D, if you can’t sell 5 houses per year and make $75,000 profit you suck at your job. We have WAY too many real estate agents, with the huge oversupply and the fact everyone I know uses online sites to find their houses, the entire way it’s done should be changed. It should be WAY lower.

I only paid 3% total. 1% to Redfin, 2% to buyer. But that was in 2018.

I have a home that we are about to sell near Scotch 80's. It is a 675K+ home, I expect to pay 4-5%. It will sell in a week. Home needs ZERO, over 150K spent 6 years ago.
