I don't think I'm alone, but when someone follows me too close, my reaction is to slow down. I'm sure scofflaws and chronic tailgaters must realize this?

1.  If any driver drives a motor vehicle at a speed so slow as to impede the forward movement of traffic proceeding immediately behind the driver, the driver shall:

(a) If the highway has one lane for traveling in each direction and the width of the paved portion permits, drive to the extreme right side of the highway and, if applicable, comply with the provisions of NRS 484B.630;

Thanks for posting the above. I think it is likely true in all states.

I notice the rules specify “highways.” I wonder about non-highway arteries such as Eastern Ave in Henderson. It is 3 lanes in each direction. I wonder if non-highway arteries are considered to have “fast” and “slow” lanes.

I’ve taken to driving the speed limit, assuming it is safe, and staying in the right lane (or if needed temporarily) the middle lane based on traffic conditions. I have no desire to be a road boulder impeding the flow of traffic in the left lane, as it isn’t safe for me or anyone else.

Even in the right lane and at 65 mph, sometimes someone gets right on my tail as if doing so will cause me to magically disappear — all so they can gain another 3 or 4 car lengths and repeat the behavior on yet another motorist.

You mean like this https://www.ktnv.com/news/one-dead-o...ummerlin-crash

I'm sure half the people in this thread will blame the Toyota who was trying to make a left turn because they didn't get out of the way of the speeding jeep running the red light. "But officer, the guys on City Data told me that it doesn't matter how fast over the speed limit I'm driving, it's up to the other "slow" people to get out of my way because they're creating an unsafe driving environment for those of us going 90mph!"

Illegal left turn. Toyota's fault.

Doesn't matter how fast or slow the jeep was going. Jeep driver should get speeding ticket.

No kidding! For real, are people late to the airport or something? I've had my car literally shaken by the speed which someone passed me with, while I was going five over the speed limit. On Ann Road, where little kids cross the street to catch the school bus.
