I'm in the Phoenix area which is comparable to LV. Last night it was 109F in Phoenix at 10PM which IMO is way too hot for a walk. We're in an especially hot spell right now with temps about 8-10 degrees above normal, so figure that in LV it may well be 90-100 at 10PM. IMO that's "use the gym" weather.

I think many will find its not pleasant at that time to go walking, or even at 10-11pm in the middle of summer. Certainly doesn't apply to everyone as some love the summer weather. I never was able to fully acclimate to where I enjoyed anything about the summer, it was just something to endure and reminded myself it was my choice to live there and that is what comes with it for about 3 months of the year. Other than a few select climates nationwide there is always a season where most days you just end up avoiding weather exposure. It just so happens the majority of people moving to Las Vegas come from California where such conditions don't really exist.

A few years ago I had two dogs and walked them most nights all summer just as the sun was going down. I'd catch the last half hour of daylight before it got dark. Some nights it was too hot, but not that many. I don't have dogs now, but like to walk for exercise. Temps are well above normal now, hope that doesn't continue all summer. I don't feel like getting up before sunrise to walk and it's pretty hot at dusk.

I might have to join a gym again (I quit going when Covid showed up). Wish I had an extra bedroom in my house for a treadmill and some workout equipment.

FWIW, I don't mind temps here up to about 110 degrees, but I stay out of the sun during the day. Over 110 feels too hot to sit in the shade. It would be nice to have a pool, our community has one but it's not heated yet and it's too cold for my taste. They're trying to get a contractor to get it heated, but having a hard time finding one.
