McCarran got up to 109.0 (42.8) yesterday, and Henderson Executive 108.0 (42.2). Henderson is usually a higher high. Dosen't that sound funny?

Yeah it does. It's funny how Phoenix has been a few degrees cooler a few days this summer so far as well. We're usually always cooler, so to see that sometimes is funny as well. I'll take these temps over the humidity.

90 degree "lows" are probably one of the things I was happiest to leave behind most when I left Vegas. Having to take my dog out for a walk in 100+ weather at 10pm or later was something I endlessly dreaded.

I don't think it's a great place to own a dog for that reason. My GF and I were talking about that, but I'm not a dog person at all. Too much responsibility for an animal.

I would take Vegas weather right now any time over Portland weather. My solar system generated 20% less in June than last June, which wasn't even that great of a month. July 4th was downright cold, I was freezing by 6:45 p.m. and the sun was hours from going down. The overnight low here on July 2nd was 47 degrees! Absolutely ridiculous. Summer should feel like summer. Of course, I think Vegas summer is the worst season overall for weather, but as with everything there is a silver lining if you can take advantage.

I think summer in Vegas is a great time to vacation elsewhere, get away for a bit, that's what my aunt does. She visits family in different parts of the country as much as she can, which helps a lot I think. I noticed flights to Hawaii are cheaper than usual, my timeshare charges about half the units for Hawaii during the summer compared to any other time, so an annual tradition of getting away to Hawaii every July or August sounds great to me. Bottom line is I'll take a Vegas summer in exchange for the other great months of the year and 300 days of sunshine any day over living in a place where the summer is the only nice time all year long.
