All depends on where the house is and what you were previously paying

That's it? You quoted me to say this? Wisdom better kept to yourself.

the point was if you were overpaying to begin with... saving 500 is a drop in the bucket.

Progressive wanted 2100 to insure my home (they do my cars)

I pay 980

I don't think there is much more that can be done on the no insurance problem for NV registered cars. The law abiding public who switch companies usually get some nonsense lack of insurance letter because of some goof by an insurance company canceling or putting it in force one day off, or because the zealots at the DMV send them out before seeing there is another new policy in force. Once you get the letter its like guilty guilty guilty until you make three calls and get some approved person from your insurer to swear you had coverage. Its crazy the lengths the state goes to keep people insured. Its the ones who are intent on not keeping coverage and pulling tricks to get around the law that are the issue, mostly by keeping cars registered in the many states who don't even try to enforce the insurance mandates.

Your observation remains pointless in relation to my original comment. Don't quote a benign congratulatory remark to make your grouchy assertions--just let it fly--no need to reference my comment.

New lowest quote! Came from Farmer's. Auto was $100 less than American Family but the real bonus was the homeowners. It is $500 less than what I am now paying. Unless something else comes out of the woodwork I will be buying from them!

I would encourage anyone to check Farmers for a quote on their home. Couldn't believe how much cheaper it was.

Great deal! Hopefully they won't bump it up (and I don't mean 1-2 percent) after the first year. My insurance company did that to me after the first year in my new home--I called and told them I was going with another company, and they found a few discounts (that magically offset the increase) someone had inadvertently left off the policy bundle....imagine that. Keep an eye on them.
