Las Vegas ranked 4th worst city to live in - https://www.ktnv.com/news/las-vegas-...ity-to-live-in We would be #1 if all the crime on LVBS was reported.

This is the cleanest city I have been to.
There so much opportunity here as well. No state tax. So much sunshine. No natural disasters. It's 24 hours. Any performer you want to see will be here. Cost of living is lower than most cities. I'm paying like 100 more a month here than in bfe NC and that is only because insurance.
My utilities are lower. House is bigger. Closer to everything. You really can't beat Vegas until you have a million or more in the bank.
I don't care what some bs list says. Vegas is the best place I have lived. I have been all over the country.

Every time one of these "best" or "worst" surveys come out I have to question who is compiling the statistics and how they're doing it. This applies to everything, not just cities. Look at the Best of Vegas ratings as an example. Those seem entirely arbitrary and probably paid for.

If they're trying to tell me that Las Vegas is worse than Chicago, then they've lost all credibility as far as I'm concerned.

Further, if it was really that bad Las Vegas wouldn't have such an influx of people and such a tight housing market, among other things.

Oh, and then there's this:

Las Vegas ranked as one of the best places to live in April 2018.

The thing is flatly wrong. Violent crime metric is off by 2.5X. Likely metro crime and city population

Bingo! Las Vegas is the BEST city to live in. I could live anywhere I want to live, but Vegas is the ideal city for the reasons you listed. I cannot stand cities where everything closes by 9 p.m. Unless you're 90 years old or an extreme morning person, that's unacceptable. My day is a little above half-way over by 9 p.m., so that leaves about 7-8 hours I'm awake without much open. It's annoying.

PS: I have a lot more than a million in the bank and I still choose Vegas. No thanks to everywhere else.

PPS: Their crime statistics are irrelevant and basically wrong. In Summerlin violent crime is nowhere close to that, virtually negligible, and in Henderson it's 249 per 100,000, it's 10x lower than what they have listed. Their crime statistics are irrelevant to anyone living in a good area of Las Vegas, especially because if you live in Summerlin or Green Valley you have zero reason ever to go to places like North Las Vegas or anywhere else but the Strip, which is incredibly safe most of the time (October 1 being an exception, sadly) as it is loaded with security cameras and private security and police.

I'll be moving as soon as I sell my small business as a Lyft driver.
