I just read they changed the TOU pricing options as of 6/1/18. The old TOU-A and TOU-B rates are no longer available to new customers, but it looks like old customers are grandfathered into that rate schedule.

The new TOU schedule has higher kWH rates, but a big benefit is that summer weekend (Sat/Sun) days are not considered peak. New TOU has the same effective peak dates (6/1-9/30) and peak hours are 1-7pm.

Old Tou-A kwh rates:
Winter: .04378
Summer On Peak: .35834
Summer Off Peak: .05816

New TOU rates (Sat/Sun is no longer peak):
Winter: .05
Summer On Peak: .44
Summer Off Peak: .06

I downloaded my meter data and ran the calcs, Tou-A vs New TOU rates is within $2 per year difference for me. The summer weekend changes probably make it far more palatable for most people.

Did they scrap the TOU-B rate for new customers?

Sat/Sun being off-peak is awesome!

Yes, both TOU-A and TOU-B.

I'm a dummy and thought they changed it for everyone. I searched NV Energy's website last week and saw that weekends were off peak under time of use. I was pumping the AC last weekend and then logged in to my account Monday and saw that I used a whole bunch of electricity at the peak rate. Ooops.

TOU-A was always 1pm-7pm

I was going to go on TOU-B at the end of summer but now may just decide to stay on the regular non-TOU plan

Lucky you! I called customer service early June and they said the Usage Meter on the app still showed on peak for Sat/Sun because it hadn't updated yet, but that I was on the new plan with off-peak weekends.

Imagine my surprise when I saw June's bill and it showed the grandfathered Option A. Lesson learned, reps don't know what they are talking about.
