Since so many people travel to and from here, do you have a favorite site that you find the best prices for airfare?

I have been checking Travelocity, Orbitz and Funjet. Couldn't find anything for just flights on Funjet-maybe they specialize in pkgs.

Just wondering if there are any others I may be missing. We will be coming in early May and we want to come during the week where businesses will be open.

Thanks for any info!

If you have flexible travel dates, orbitz or travelocity usually has some good deals, but otherwise, I have found it best to book directly with the airline. Southwest has some great rates depending on when you fly.

With Southwest... Make sure to check over a few days to a week. They seem to be varying the prices more than they used to.

They are all the same. They all use the same search engines listing the same flights.

What I do is use any one of them to find the best flight, then I take the information and go directly to the airline web site and book there. I saved all the fees that those Travelocity type sites charge. Which by the way, almost all of them are all owned by the same companies anyway. Haven't you noticed the similarity in the format of some of the sites?

Oh. And other then visiting a porn site, by visiting a travel site you will notice the very next day you will be bombarded by travel related spam. Most of those travel sites, like porn sites, plant cookies in your PC and you will get bombed by spam just for doing a search.

Happy traveling......................

I do agree that they are all generally the same, but as far as going to the airline sites, isn't is cheaper to find a package deal? Like hotel and air together? Or do you do the airline and then go to the particular hotel site and book there, finding it cheaper overall?

The best idea is to google Sherman's Travels. He has a database which fetches responses from the Top 10 travel sites in consecutive order. It makes the process MUCH quicker and easier -- and then you don't have to decide which one to use -- just pick whichever gives the best deals for that trip.

I have also found booking my flight with my rental car at the same time has saved me money on the rental car (My most recent purchased gave me a discount of about 120-150$ on the rental car.)
