My cox has been in and out for months now, paid a tech to come to the house, says everything fine. While trading stocks, a reliable internet source is needed. I've been having to use cell service to trade. Pathetic.

I'd be willing to bet, unless you stream for hours at a time everyday, you don't even notice your service is spotty.

At any rate all the wireless companies are bringing 5G, and cox will be a huge loser.

How are they currently the only game in town?

First there was the mafia, now there is the monopoly

There is century link but it's not available everywhere. But to my knowledge or lack of, cox has no wireless service or plans for it. Their residential business will evaporate. 5G wlreless is coming, and those that can't provide this service will lose big time.

I'm retired and I spend a lot of time on the Internet. My service is not spotty.

What did the tech check?

Wired or wireless?

What part of cox is wireless. You live in a very different zip code than I do.

Wife teleworks 10 hours/day and rarely has a service interruption. Stays connected to a server 1200 miles away using Cox. When she retires, I am getting rid of it unless the pricing has changed by then. Other than price, Cox gets it done where we live.

Isn't there a difference between live steaming and buffered TV shows etc. I contend a lot of people have interrupted service and don't realize it because of buffering.
