My new home is near here. If true, real estate pricing is going up over there.

It does seem inevitable Las Vegas will get a MLB team someday but it is hard to believe they would build a stadium before getting a commitment for a team. Also, wonder how that would affect the new minor league ballpark in Summerlin.

The Athletics may follow the Raiders.

Chances of a MLB team in LV in the next 10 years: low.

Chance of tearing down the Rio to build a stadium, instead of building on a vacant or low value lot: very low.

I have thought the same thing, despite articles claiming that the Athletics are committed to Oakland. The city has had literally decades to address their stadium situation, and they have made no effort to do so. That is why the Raiders are leaving. They got tired of waiting on the city to replace the dilapidated Coliseum - the last remaining multi-purpose stadium built for both football and baseball. Every other city that had one has replaced it with purpose-built stadiums for individual sports.

Why would they tear down a casino to put in a sportsball stadium when there's plenty of open space nearby?

Its all about location in this town. Imagine putting sports minutes away from.being able to gamble. Everything is about the full entertainment experience in this city. The nearby places will make millions

Tourists don't want to venture far away from the strip so the idea makes sense. No reason to put a stadium away from the resorts. Want that thing as close as possible.

I gotta believe an up and running casino would make a lot more than a stadium. Yankees most profitable in MLB and they only gross 600mil yr.
