This is something about Republicans that I'll never wrap my head around...

You want all of the privileges and benefits of socialism (organized labor, government jobs, a managed economy) for yourselves, but have no problem leaving everyone else to the whims of a crappy "free market" that doesn't effect you.

It's the classic "I got mine, screw everyone else" mentality that, thankfully, is being called out more and more these days due to the obviously glaring disparities.
Frankly, the poster is clearly a Communist that is spewing some Capitalist talking points to stir the pot.

Not sure what these trolls get out of this stuff, or why the mods on city-data don't do something about it.

You've been here a short time with 253 rep. If anyone is a troll it's you.

There's nothing even remotely communist in any of my posts. It's you, 08grad, and kittam that are the ones calling for government control of everything. THAT is communism.

1992 days since 8/1/13 and 5667 posts... That's nearly 3 posts every single day for nearly 6 years straight. Does that strike you as a very large amount of posting? Also, the timestamps are at all times of day.

For someone with the super successful business you keep making a point to point out to everyone, you sure do a LOT of posting.

If I didn't know any better, I might say that posting here is a full time job for you.

I made no calls for government control of anything that isn't already regulated. In fact, I keep calling for removal of H1-Bs - you're the one defending them.

Wouldn't removing H1Bs make America dumb again?

Well let's see, in those 6 years I've gone from cab driving to selling cars to cable installing to the carpenter's union to rideshare to my own fabrication shop and now mobile mechanic business.
So I've had a lot of schedules and different times to post.

Right now I wake up when I want, check my messages to see who wants their car fixed. Make their appointments and fix cars. When I am done with that I go work on the long term customer car I have to build. When I have a brake job at 1pm and the next is at 2:30 I have an hour to kill where I can't really start anything else so I goof off online til the next job starts.
One the project car there's a lot of welding and fabrication. To minimize shifting you need to weld in segments letting the part cool completely. That gives me down time where I also post online.
My typical schedule is wake up at 10 or 11am and go to bed at 4am. Sometimes I get an early morning appointment that changes my schedule.

And as far as communism goes, I want the government completely shut down forever. No government at all for any reason. The opposite of communism.

Nope. It would let qualified Americans fill those positions.

The H1-B program was developed for importing truly exceptional talent. Think: Brain Surgeon, Astrophysicist...

Anybody can learn the skills to be a Software Engineer or Sys admin. We don't need to be importing these people. There are just as many people here who want a piece of the IT pie as there are in India.

I've worked on several project cars in the past. There is usually several consecutive weeks of work involved. Plenty you can do while welds are cooling.

At the shop I worked at, there was always a waiting list for people to have their car worked on or restored.

There were typically at least 4 cars in various stages of completion at any given moment. We only had 1 bay and one lift.

Oh, and I never said I was super successful. I've said, several times, that I have a long way to go.

Except I do FABRICATION which means all the metal work.... So no, there isn't a lot I can do in between welds.

I do MOBILE mechanic work. I can't stack cars because I have to set appointments to go to them.
I can't have 3 people waiting several hours for me to show up whenever.
