Living in Nevada is kind of like the wrong side of the tracks. We are the darkies of the states.

Yucca Mountain really was the screw Nevada Act. And it continues.

They would never dare sneak a shipment into CA or NY or another important state...But let NV bitc*.

And it is much safer now that Reid is gone.

I do find it interesting that it was shipped from South Carolina where Lindsey Graham, a friend of Trump's is Senator, to Nevada where Trump supporter Dean Heller lost.

Think of how many states that 1/2 metric ton of weapons grade plutonium traveled through, how many railroad crossings where school buses were waiting, hospitals and homes it traveled behind, shopping malls it passed. There should be more states up in arms here. Nevada is just where this shipment stopped.

But to be fair, we are a nuclear power, where should we store our munitions or our nuclear waste? It's got to go somewhere. Want to get the best schools, we should be extorting the FEDS for untold billions to store it in this state.

Our state representatives have been and are asleep at the wheel. Oh and we do not rely on Nuclear power in our state but somehow the wastes end up here. How about Nellis Air Force Base, how much nuclear weapons are inside that base?

RENO, Nev. (AP) — A federal judge denied Nevada’s latest request Thursday to immediately block all future shipments of weapons-grade plutonium to a nuclear security site near Las Vegas.

The state wanted the shipments blocked until potential safety and environmental risks could be reviewed further. U.S. District Court Judge Miranda Du denied the state’s request a day after the Energy Department revealed that it had already sent half of the highly radioactive material that it had planned to move from South Carolina to the Nevada National Security Site.


The judge in Reno said in a 16-page ruling that proceedings will continue on a regular schedule in a lawsuit Nevada filed in November seeking to block plans the Energy Department approved in August to transfer a full metric ton of plutonium to Nevada.

We have very weak and dumb politicians representing our state. It's like they just fell off the cabbage truck. Also conflicting opinions from local politicians does not help our case. If I remember correctly, there are politicians from another county that does NOT mind having the waste stored in the state.

Nye wants the job and potentially the clout. Southern Nye has an insoluble water problem. And the Feds might provide the leverage to solve it.

One of the Nye problems is that the Fed sites block one of the few simple solutions to their water shortage. Nye cannot pump the aquifers to the north as it could let loose the water that is contaminated under the test site.

And actually the Feds should fix that. They screwed up part of the Nevada water system which by Western water law is not owned by the owner of the surface land.
