I'm not sure but not nearly enough to justify wasting that kind of money on light rail.

Today is D-day for a decision on what form of transportation they will recommend on Marlyland Pkwy. Expanded bus service, Bus rapid transit, or light rail.

RTC voted in favor of rapid bus transit. No light rail here. Boo.

ALWAYS, I mean ALWAYS turn on Google Maps Navigation to check for best route. Traffic in Vegas is getting crazy. Check this out: 2.1 million people live in Las Vegas metro area and the city is tiny at ~450 square miles.

Other cities that have a ~2 million population have at least ~700 square miles and way more highways than Vegas. (my hometown Kansas City is a great example of this). I still like it better in Vegas

I wish Vegas had more highways. I feel that Cheyenne and Flamingo are 2 streets that should be highways. I know it would be difficult to get rid of so many intersections, but NV DOT should consider it in the future. It would help relieve the west/east commute for Summerlin Parkway/95 and 215.

Sorry Joe simply not true. Clark County alone is over 8,000 square miles. The Metropolitan area is over 30,000 square miles. Density is very low a tiny percentage of say LA or OC.

Compared to most similar or bigger cities it is easy. Learn to manage a couple of difficult spots and it is not a problem.

I do agree with always using GPS when crossing the town. The 15 corridor can really screw things up when it goes south.

The thing is don't measure the entire Clark County area, you have to only count where people live. In this case Vegas measures about ~20 miles wide (west to east) and ~27 miles tall (north to south). That equals to ~540 square miles of space where people actually live and make an agglomeration. Measuring entire Clark county doesn't do justice on my comparison.

Definitely not comparing Vegas to any city in California because it just simply wouldn't make sense.

Kansas City metro area for example measures about ~40 miles wide and about ~37 miles tall, that gives you over 1300 square miles where people actually live.

Thanks for your input however
