In your case, how it was handled was wrong but seeing how much turnover there is in security not everyone is on the job with a customer service background. A lot of casinos are having to hire people with nothing more than the ability to work the schedule.

2. If you were properly trespassed which again sounds like it wasn't, you would have been told the following: "As a representative of this property, I hereby advise you that you are trespassed in accordance with NRS 207.200. If you do you not vacate the premises immediately, you will be subject to arrest." Then the officer should have said that this trespass applies to all properties within the MGM network.

3. You had a profile created with your picture taken by their surveillance. They don't have advanced facial recognition but their cameras are sophisticated enough to recognize you and pull up your profile. With that said, you might walk into MGM Grand and be asked to leave but go into Excalibur and not be approached, it depends on how well each property's surveillance operates.

4. The only way to get it lifted is to contact the Director of Security where you were initially "trespassed" and give an apology saying you didn't realize it was wrong to cash the ticket.
Why some people taking this cash vouchers that they never earned. You could hire a lawyer and have your attorney for an injunction regarding the trespass. Guess u could always dress a black man while u are in fact a white man. U get my point

That's part of the thing, as I stated, the time they "caught me" they stated it was for 1 day. The next time I was in that same casino, 4 months later, they came up to me, just sitting there in the sportsbook and brought me to a security room and read me that trespass statement, and told me I was only not allowed in that single casino.

4 months after that, this past week...I was a guest at an MGM casino all week, from Saturday-Thursday, eating in MGM restaurants all week...On Wednesday, security from a casino, different from the one who gave me the trespass info stopped me walking to a restaurant and told me I wasn't allowed in any MGM casino. And yes, it has to be facial recognition, I had not swiped a card or gave my name anywhere yet. The letter I wrote 4 months ago is still unanswered. So now, it appears I am banned for life from all MGM properties.

By the way, the casino that trespassed me continues to send me invitations in the mail to stay at that very hotel.

You'll continue to get them unless they file a DNI which stands for Do Not Invite with their marketing department.

I once sat at a bar and the slot machine showed $75 was in it. I didn't notice it until the bartender cashed out the machine. I was wondering why he kept hanging around. I was like this is great service..

I've heard some places run stings on employees. I also heard at one casino they don't consider anything under $1.

Yeah, people do it all the time. I understand that they wouldn't want people hanging around doing it. My issue is the lifetime ban with no warning. And the story changing 3 times.

Ok then I stand corrected and it was just a pisspoor description from the outset about "walking" and "standing" as it took to post #18 to say the first thing about "paying" or "staying". Big difference. Write a letter requesting and explaining why the trespass should be removed and if you don't get a positive response take your business elsewhere. It's not like MGM is the only casino chain.

Another thing - I would never ever ever sign anything unless I got a copy.

I get it, they are a business and can refuse me, but isn't this overkill? I get it, I shouldn't have taken the ticket, but wasn't a warning more appropriate? Any chance to get trespass removed. I already sent a letter, no response. I have no previous wrongdoing.
Soooo what did you really do?

Don't know if it was a sting, but the cops love to use cctv, and they hate long hairs...

I know it's difficult for you to be objective, but debating "degrees of wrongness" is challenging.

You are quite focused on the amount of the ticket, rather than the act of taking the ticket.

In other words, if 30 cents is not worthy of a trespass, how about $30.00? $300.00?

At what point is stealing a crime?

For casinos, banks, cartels, anywhere with huge amounts of cash money, the answer is 1 penny.

This way it's black & white - either you stole something, or you did not. No favorites, stories, excuses, etc.

"It was for a good cause", or "I was going to put it back", or in your case, "it was just a small amount" simply doesn't matter.

-von

PS I realize that the casino is NOT claiming you stole something, as that could get ugly. But the NGC allows casinos to determine who can be trespassed based on a variety or factors including your behavior.
