I thought that our last big spending RINO Governor gave them a $7k increase in pay. Not enough?

I look at it this way, if you really, really enjoy your work, the pay becomes secondary.

Back in the old day, when a teacher arrived in a town to teach, she'd rent a room in someone's house.

The govt has no business being involved In any of this. The govt should have only ONE purpose, protecting our citizens from foreign threats.

Infinitely? I don't think this word means what you think it means.

I'm curious to know who in this thread has physically spent some time working as a teacher in a public school system within the last ten years.

Did you use the same "math" as when you concluded that teachers make $50/hour? Might want to check your work again.

The pension requires they work 33.33 years so unless it's Doogie Howser, I don't think any teachers are retiring at 44.

33 years?, No 20 year packages? That's right, 33 years teaching translates to 20 ona full time job. Shame on me.

I never said $50.00. The average teacher is paid $49.95 / hr. Besides not quoting factually the math is too hard for you.
