That is hilarious, you run with a tough crowd.

I get it.

My setter likes to hunt my 16yo cat. I have to keep the cat in the garage, unfortunately.

My dogs rarely go outside during the day in the heat, although at least once a day, one of them goes and sunbathes on the blistering hot desert landscaping rocks (his paws don't touch the rocks).

He's being doing that for years and is a very intelligent dog.

Actually 103 is marginally OK. 110 is too much. Plus I stay under the patio where it is 96 and let the dog run around where it is 103.

and note tht a late June early July 103 is likely only a 95 heat index.

it depends on what kind of fur they have.

my husky mix likes to hang out on the cool tile indoors, but my my lil curly haired terrier likes to sunbathe even in summer

I created some additional shade for him. His fur is kind of short and curly and he’’s been an outdoor dog for most of his life before I adopted him. I leave him water with ice cubes twice a day. So far so good.

In the NE US they at least used to sell something called a "pigloo" which was a plastic igloo designed for keeping farmed pigs warm outside in the winter. Many would buy these for their back yard or dog run to keep the dogs in for wintertime. They were rated for something like -20F

I should imagine that the insulating properties against the cold would work, at least to some extent, for the heat as well.
