I'm not new to Vegas, I've been here two years this time and was here for a year in the 80's. I am probably the loneliest person in Vegas!!!! I don't want to go to bars to meet people, (I am married but my husband works a lot). I work at home so I can't meet people through work. In two years the ONLY person I know in Vegas is my hairdresser! WHERE can I go to meet people! I've never had this problem in any other state that I've lived in. I do searches on the internet and all I come up with is ads for Vegas hotels and casinos!! HELP!

A church...some of ours are pretty much non-denominational and have extensive social programs. The one at Jones and Lone Mountain is an example. Drive in any Sunday.

The Athletic clubs offer the chance to meet people. Ladies work out in some volume during the day.

There are lots of walking clubs, bridge clubs, card clubs, all over town. Join one.

Many places have docents and such...join one. Lake Mead and Red Rock Canyon come to mind.

All the hospitals have auxiliaries...

Check the RJ Organization page. Something may appeal.

I know where Lone Mountain is, but I'm not sure where Jones is. (I really don't get out much!!). I have been wanting to find a church close to me that i might be interested in and Lone Mountain is really close to me. What is the exact address of the church and what are the times of services? Thank you for your response!!!

Las Vegas is known for being a city of transient people. It's a place where it's very hard to make friends because people are always coming and going (leaving the state). I lived there over 9 years and my friends changed all the time. You make a friend and a year or two later they move away. You make another and the same thing happens. Try registering with meetup.com and seeing what type of Las Vegas groups interest you. You could attend the meetings and see if you can make some friends. Regardless of your interests you are sure to find a group of that on there. If by some chance you don't - then make one.

Also, it's the perfect time of year to go hiking in Red Rock. They have guided hikes all the time. Sign up for some of the free guided hikes. You will get out in that beautiful nature and be around others on the hike. Just stop in the visitor center for the hike schedule or see it online and call to book your hikes:

Unless You are religious, I would think joining a church for social events is prob not the best route. Kind of like going to a singles bar to find religion...but to each his own i guess.... good luck

Canyon Ridge is a great non-denominational Church.. very open, and has a lot of great services to offer.. its not just a Sunday church.. in fact, I go on Saturday service.. 4:30pm is a really good one, but all are great for that matter.. lots of get together activities.. I'm not one for this "new" music they use in church, I'm still old fashioned with the hymnals.. but.. the Pastor is a kick, they give a great sermon, and like I say, they have a lot of extra-curricular activities for everyone to enjoy.. try it.. you'll probably love it...
