There is a way to respond on Facebook without them knowing it's you. Make another profile with a nice fake name. Easy to do. People make pages for their pets, and some of my family/friends have other personas so they can help themselves with game rewards.
I just changed my last name and had a comeback for virtually every negative or ignorant comment. Exhausting mentally and time consuming.

I understand you have nervousness issues and couldn't wait but now it's on your record and you're on a National emotional roller coaster.

Try to put it all behind you and no more of your energy into it. I used to work in TV news like Buzz123. The story will pass in a few days when the next thing catches the nations attention.

I hope you do something that relaxes you. For me it's spa days. Sorrry you're going through this. Cyber hugs (((WVH))).
That was an awesome post. Thank you so much. I guess I have heard of a ticket fixer but did not know what
they did or how they operate. But to be honest, I once lost about 1200.00 at that very cannery casino over the course of maybe four hours of play and of course the cosmetic dental crown can wait.

I'm having famous daves ribs right now, that relaxes me when my brain's reward receptors need stimulation.

As you can see from my interview, I am passionate about good food and Vegas is perfect for that.

And you are right, the facebook posts are now fizzling out with most people not responding to my comebacks. The reporter said it would air Monday night and then it would be done, but that is not what happened. Co-workers informed me they replayed the segment on additional broadcasts.

Thanks again for the city data love. I am completely exhausted at this point. Not much sleep last night.

I don't condone littering at ALL (full disclosure, in my 39 years, I too have littered although it's been many years) but a $1,000 fine is stupid. Most fines are money-makers and have little to do with deterring crime. I'm a criminal justice major, a rule follower, and believe in doing what is right. That being said, littering IS wrong but so is a $1,000 fine for a tossed cig in the middle of the city.

The criminal justice system has 4 arms (or should)- retribution, deterrence, rehabilitating offenders, and making victims "whole." I think we can all agree that for an average middle class person, the fine doesn't satisfy these 4 arms appropriately. Fining someone the MAXIMUM on misdemeanor for someone with no criminal record for such an infraction is not justice. What is the fine level? I don't know, but it's not $1000 either.

The schadenfreude is real here, folks.

OP, I'm glad you learned your lesson. My advice is to let this all go and know that you learned some valuable lessons about littering and people in general.
Now that is what I call a fair and balanced post. Thanks for the incredible insight. Your post really resonated with me. I am clearly dealing with a higher caliber of people on city-data as opposed to the Cretins on facebook.

the criminal justice system is not for making victims whole. that is what civil court is for.

the criminal justice system is for deterrence and public safety and wellbeing. that is its purpose. it is not perfect. but it does do what it sets out to do quite well.

Well let us see. My last ticket was three ore four years ago or so. Middle of the morning I was coming down the HOV ramp from eastbound Summerlin Parkway to the 95. After the crest around Rainbow there is a quarter mile or so downhill. Motorcycle cop sitting at the bottom. He had me at 12 over the speed limit. Wrote it up for less than that. Pointed out that I Could get it converted to a parking ticket and get no points.

That is a revenue stop. Has nothing to do with traffic safety. The cop was quite friendly and open about it. Told me how to get it taken care of cheap.

There was very close to no one taking that route and you would have to actually brake to avoid speeding.

Suspect he could sit there for a couple of hours at more than a $1000 per hour.

WVH, I hope you are feeling much better. I am feeling better, getting my wound cared for on my leg, and things are looking up. Since I am feeling better, I was hoping you were too.

Had been off this site for awhile but glad I checked in and saw your comments. I am feeling better, just disappointed in my botox injection for the tortocollis. Dr. did reassure me that the first time they are very cautious and so not uncommon for no benefit at this stage.

Not sure if I mentioned this yet, but the confluence of neurological symptoms and stress surrounding the media coverage did cost me that Saturday job. And after that I thought I deserved some fun so saw a concert and went on a gambling binge.

I was not able to use those comped weekend rooms before, but that has changed. Let's hope it is just a phase.
