Saving $500 Million from cost cuts and other initiatives in the first year? That's a lot of headcount plus a lot of deferred/canceled capital projects.

Speak of the devil. I had applied for a job at Caesars and received an automated message telling me the "requisition has been cancelled." So I either got the wrong form letter or it looks like may have put on a freeze until the companies are merged.

My guess is that job doesn't ever get filled here in Vegas. Was an IT role.

Many already got laid off in Vegas in recent months and it was quite clear why it happened. I know three of them personally.

I started a petition at CaesarS to change name to Eldorado.s Palace. Got escorted out by security..... Lol.

Baccarat on strip win down. Interest rates heading down. Oops maybe I shouldn't spend $17,000,000,000 on a bunch of aging properties at what may seem to be the high. On top of that I'm not getting any Asian exposure to boot.

The Drew doing a Trump n saying neverMind on a 2 year opening. I swear it has to be because they see a softening or recession coming.

I'm not a hater of Vegas. I have income producing assets there.

Just a very uninformed guess here... my guess is IT will stay both in Las Vegas and Reno for the time being... IT will be a focus as they seek to integrate their various systems -- HR integration, purchasing integration, booking integration, finance, treasury, tax, etc. plus whatever systems are required on the regulated side (gaming)... and merge El Dorado's loyalty program into Caesars' Total Rewards. They said they plan to keep Caesar's loyalty program. My guess is they are putting together the plan for how to attack it. Only after a system is integrated and stable will they then start accruing cost cuts in IT. My guess is they put IT in Las Vegas. But that is just a completely uninformed wild-assed guess. The question is: can the get more IT talent in Las Vegas (by way of Southern California) or in Reno (by way of the SF Bay Area)? I have no idea.

The Drew seems to be happening, along with other north strip projects. I think you're being a little paranoid.

I go on SkyscraperPage.com occasionally, and they have a Las Vegas section, which I check occasionally, to see what developments are going up, or planned, and I recall reading of a Marriott hotel to go up across from the Palms. So isn't that a vote of Faith in that area? This site also showed an aerial view of Circa downtown, under construction. And a 40+ hotel tower called the Majestic on the Strip somewhere.

One of my Mom's friends really likes the Rio design. She was impressed with the colors in the room or something. I didn't think it was that bad when I visited them there. The Mardi Gras theme reminds me of my southern roots and they had some of the coolest gift shop items out of all the hotels I explored. They matched the theme of the design. Too bad the parade track on the ceiling was no longer operational by the time I went there. I did the VooDoo zip line and that was fun. The night club up top and the view are still great imho. There was a convention center behind it we went to another time for real estate to learn about the market in the valley. The location is kind of funny getting in and out of there but over all it's still good I think.

Not sure if the Majestic gets done, but the others are pretty much certain. There are billions of dollars in other projects too, just a few are casinos.
