I'm a call it 'Bleu Drew.' After the two names. When they sell it again I'll come up with a third one.

Once the Stratosphere, always the Stratosphere. The STRAT.....sounds weird.

Been away from Las Vegas for a year now, there was talk of completing the Fountainbleu, renaming it The Drew (Dru might have been better) and is there any progress on completing it?

It's too bad that the original design for the Stratosphere wasn't approved, which would have made it the tallest structure in the country at 2000 feet. That was the FAA that cropped it at 1049 feet. And so far away from McCarren!

Come to think of it it has been called The Strat in past posts.

As for Bleu Dreu the 3B project was delayed to open in 2022 instead of 2020. Everything kind of got put off and reconfigured that end of the strip including Steve's Wynn project when that shake down occurred. Instead of a beach lagoon going in they're doing the golf course. Not sure how Resort World is coming along. Lucky Dragon also went belly up after a year.

Personally, I don’t really care what someone wants to call something as long as what I say is understood. I’ll keep calling it the Stratosphere. I hate cutesy nicknames and won’t use them for anything, whether it’s “veggies” or vacay or any other painful such thing. The Blazers play at the Moda Center but any fan who isn’t like 9 years old knows it’s called the Rose Garden and everyone still calls it that besides the radio, since they contractually have to honor the naming rights. It’s awful. What if one day they renamed Yankee Stadium to W.B Mason Stadium or Dunkin Donuts Stadium or something?! I’m not calling it that! It’s Yankee Stadium forever.

The Strat sounds much better than The Stratosphere, which sounds like a run down building from the 60s.
