Not sure what reality you live in but I hope you are right. I think it's close to zero percent chance of happening but hey I have been wrong before.

Supposedly Belmont, AZ (West of Phoenix) was going to be a smart city, that's what this reminds me of but on a much smaller scale. (Bill Gates was even a backer in Belmont). They both sound like great ideas, but as far as I know nothing has ever happened with Belmont. In fact I-11 was supposed to connect Belmont to Las Vegas, but who knows when that will ever happen.

These types of projects seem very speculative and not easy to get financed, so without any financing or backers announced I am not sure what cloud $7.5 billion is going to drop out of for them to get started? Do they even have the first billion raised yet? Guess we'll see...

We can all have our doubts, but at the end of the day its good people are trying this stuff. Where else in the world does this project make more sense? If they spend even a billion that's a lot of jobs sustained and will invite more positive development on the south end of LV Blvd, which has always seemed to me to be underwhelming for its potential.

Care to put your money where your mouth is?

Close to zero, so are you offering 5000-1 or something like that?

I've bet on longer odds and won before

Clark County officials are magnetized to pie-in-the-sky, big-price-tag white, red or blue elephants. And what's the color of that elephant going up near I-15 and Russell Road?

If Las Vegas wants to become a secondary high tech hub, like Salt Lake City or Austin, TX, they had better get busy building some light rail lines around the Valley, as this Mellennial crowd detests the whole idea of putting their hands on a steering wheel. Bicycle handlebars, yes!

I first spotted this project, some time ago, on Skyscraperpage.com which has a Las Vegas section. With that, I can keep up on all the proposed developments in Las Vegas. It's good to see a housing development going up in Symphony Park.

No thank you. I am not a gambler but I would be beyond shocked if this is developed. We shall see....

If they want to build a tech industry, they should develop a major STEM institute at UNLV, and fund a startup incubator tied to that.

Transit has nothing to do with it. I've been to Austin, it's ever bit as car-centric as Vegas.
