The MLB is now threatening to move the Oakland As to Vegas. This is yet another sign that this may become a reality in the future.

In the recent past, we've learned that the Kansas City Royals are for sale, and the Arizona Diamondbacks are in talks with Henderson officials about a move to the Silver State.

It is definitely looking like Las Vegas could have Major League Baseball by 2025. What are your thoughts on this?

Just don't put any tax money into it.

Seems like a forgone conclusion that it is going to happen for one of those franchises. There aren't many other options aside from Vegas that wants teams.

I'm with BBMW that I'd prefer that they not be subsidized but corporate socialism is status quo in America so we will definitely be paying for it.

If a team wants to use their money to build a dome stadium that would be great but I wouldn't support tax payer money being used for the stadium. Some road improvements around the stadium paid by state money would be ok if the cost is not too high. I think for a team to be successful they would need to be in a dome. Attendance at major league ballparks is down so a dome with 35k seats should be enough.

With the Golden Knights and Raiders tickets sales so successful, I do have to wonder how many people are left with enough disposable income to be able to afford baseball tickets too. I would think NBA basketball would do better than baseball.

This!

Why people vote to support tax dollars going to build private stadiums is beyond my comprehension. Imagine what 750 million could have done for LV instead of the Raiders stadium.

Baseball is a dying sport, even with all private money it’s a hard pass for me.

Are there any teams in MLB that share a stadium with a football team?

Not like there used to be. Currently the Raiders and A’s share the Oakland Coliseum.

Candlestick Park in SF, Anaheim Stadium, and Jack F. Murphy stadium in San Diego used to have baseball and football.

They won’t share the stadium in Las Vegas. A separate Stadium will be built. Considering how well the knights have done being on the strip, LV would have to be insane not to have the baseball stadium near the strip. Baseball fans can tend to travel well, esp in the months kids are off school.

The scuttlebutt is that the Rio might be torn down for an MLB stadium.

It doesn't say good things about the future of Vegas when a baseball stadium is more valuable than a casino.

I don't see LV being able to support 81 games, especially with the summer heat. 30 of those games will be played inside as it'll have to be a retractable roof- which ends up taking away most the appeal. Tough sport for a city like LV but I don't doubt baseball will be coming. I love it, so I'd like to see it, but without taxpayer money. Never gonna happen.
