Is Vegas and it's vicinity a good place to live if one wants both peace and excitement? Perhaps a person can live in an area where the year round residents live for peace and go to the strip or other places where there is excitement.

Yup. That's why I love Summerlin. Beautiful views of the Red Rocks during the day and then head into the strip for a world class entertainer and top shelf dinner!

That’s why I chose Henderson - only 12 minutes to the airport and about 15 to the Strip, but very peaceful and normal area to live regularly speaking.

Most days here in my little corner in Aliante are blissfully peaceful and quiet. If we need excitement, we head to a casino. So, yes, you can have both, depending on how quiet your neighbors are, and what you consider peaceful. We also find peace in long bike rides around our community. Really nice mountain views and still enough wide open spaces.

There are many outlying neighborhoods that are just about dead most of the time. Maybe most of them. New build and old...I've been on streets in sunrise manor with early 1980's build homes that are so quiet at night you can hear a mouse squeak. Same with lots of the new build places.

I don't think theres anywhere in the valley that is more than a 30 minute non rush hour drive from the strip or Fremont street not to mention that nearly every neighborhood in Las Vegas has a major locals casino as well as multiple other entertainment options.
