I haven't lived in the U.S. since 1994, so am a bit out of touch with trends and such. Is it common in other places to identify areas by their ZIP code? Doesn't a given ZIP code area contain variations in housing, businesses, etc?

On high income 89113, I live there.

I can only contribute my neighborhood observations for the noted high income. This zip has our 96 house Pardee Meridian tract. Just 1.5 years old, pretty much every house is valued over 1 Mil. My neighbors are 2 attorneys, an investor, airline captain, and physician. Not including my household in mid six figures. Much of this area is zoned rural Enterprise, so many 1/2 acre plus lots, newer houses along Ford at 1 Mil +. Basically south of the 215 between Cimarron and Durango south to almost Blue Diamond.

Using the zip code is the best method for searching on real estate websites

I like where we are living now which is 89129 near Alexander/Cliff Shadow Pkwy, much better than 89117-Peccole Ranch. although most would probably say that Peccole Ranch area is better. Peccole Ranch community is in Summerlin vicinity.

I love being by the mountains, it's beautiful and clean with plenty of walking/hiking trails, parks, and wildlife. I had no idea we had foxes (Kit) in Las Vegas. A lot of people say it's boring around here because you have to venture out to eat or shop (15 minutes). Fine with me less people less traffic and problems.

current demographics and breakdowns. The US postal service has way better data than city data or other city breakdowns. This all by zip.

I second that. Between the number of parks and bike lanes on every road, little to no commercial except on Cheyenne, the cooler altitude, shaded earlier in the evening from the mountains, little to never any traffic, I find the area a dream. It's different, there's no hustle, no crowds, and no HOA fees in alot of the area.

We have an HOA, but they aren't too bad. I just take care of the issues, send the HOA an email that it's taken care of no problems.

I had never even ventured over to this area, never knew it existed until we started house hunting. Once I saw the area I knew I wanted to be here.

Yeah my aunt and I are both in 89052, we love the area in general and there are affordable houses here, it’s not just the luxury houses by any means. It’s a very nice zip with many luxury homes but there are also better priced options and lots of amenities around.
