Everything is fine, do not be alarmed.

It would be better if it left from Ontario area. But then again I fly weekly to Long Beach at about $45 each way.

There is no need to worry about global warming. Stanford professor Paul R. Ehrlich proved in 1968 that global famine would decimate the human race by 1980. You can't argue with this, THIS IS SCIENCE. From STANFORD UNIVERSITY. And a NY Times BEST SELLING BOOK.

So one guy gets something wrong and that throws out the other plethora of the body of science and scientists warning that the situation is getting worse?

You sure are a smart guy.

I think the train is a great start. S. California residents are our main source of tourists and how long will they put up with 5 or 6+ hours car rides to go home? Build it before the tourist say it's not worth it to visit Las Vegas.

If Branson's company can build the rail, great. I'm just skeptical. Virgin Rail just got off the ground in Florida, so we'll see how that pans out.

Talk is cheap. Saying you'll break ground and doing so are different things.

I just don't see how it makes sense with Victorville as the launch point. If you live in Long Beach it will take you 2.5 hours to drive to Victorville. From Victorville, it is less than 3 hours to just continue on to Las Vegas. The train would take 1.5 hours. I just can't see people stopping, parking, grabbing their luggage, getting their tickets, boarding the train, dealing with possible delays, etc. just to save 1 hour and 20 minutes of travel time. Then, when you get there, you don't have a car. If you want to go visit Hoover Dam, Red Rock, or Charleston, you have to rent a car.

Has there been a drop off in people making the drive? Haven't people been driving to Las Vegas from Southern California for well over 70+ years?

Not a drop off in people making the drive. More like during peak travel times like Thanksgiving and upcoming Christmas the I-15 becomes a parking lot.
