I suspect that Nevada would try to leave with California. Much more in common with CA than the rest of the US.

Nevada has traditionally been a lot more live let live. Most traditionally libertarian place you will ever find. As long as you didn’t cross certain boundaries imposed by the mafia and their politicians, you were free to do as you wish. California is totally antithetical to this philosophy. It is one of the most government nanny states you will ever find.

Lol... What do you suppose would happen to Las Vegas without the tourist trade from Ca? I was born and raised in LV and most of the people I know.... don’t gamble. They go to shows and restaurants sure, but there aren’t enough locals to keep so many places in business.
People would lose jobs and the economy in LV would tank. You’d be creating more problems for LV than solving. Dumbest thing I’ve ever seen here.... and that says a lot!

People would still visit. Swipe a passport and get in. Much like Vancouver. Foreign tourists would still flood in by the plane load. You would cut down on the number of illegal immigrants and Section 8 riff raff priced out of the LA areas. More marginal area in Vegas would be much more liveable. California is importing a lot of its problems and open sanctuary policies into Vegas. They pass a lot of these policies to virtue signal and “look good”, but since they are high income they are rather insulated from their consequences. The middle and working class in Vegas pay the price.

Those "immigrants" have more right to be in Nevada and the SW USA than you do, seeing as how most of those states were stolen from Mexico from an unprovoked war.

Libertarians always want everything for free and want to drop age of consent laws down to something that you'd see in the Middle East. Stupid immature ideology.

These are the same people that are telling blue voters "stop moving to Nevada! you're bringing your city slicker problems here!" because they've enjoyed ridiculous representation in the senate and electoral system.

If OP wants cheap housing, you can go to the rust belt cities that NAFTA and free trade killed. Plenty of nice turn key ready properties available for 50k. Of course unemployment is high in those areas. Are you adventurous and entrepreneuring enough to make a new economy in an area that neo-liberalism has sacrificed for cheaper goods?

Vegas doesn't exist without LA. Vegas became a destination for GIs either en route to LA or from LA. If LA didn't exist, LV would still be just a bunch of saw dust joints.
