I mean, investigative stories of people's bad private doings (in this case, a woman leeching off a elderly millionaire), as opposed to bad corporations. The people trying to stop it aren't getting anywhere, and maybe if a reporter looked into it, it might help.

I have never seen something like that on the local news so I tend to doubt it. Sounds more like a 20/20 special but only if the person has scammed 5 or 10 elderly people.

Depending on what she is doing it could be a crime. Might talk to the Police about it. Each Police Dept usually has a Detective assigned to handle cases of elder abuse including financial. Here’s a definition “Elder financial exploitation is the illegal or improper use of an elderly adult’s funds, property, or resources by another individual.“

Thank you, but I thought I was clear in the headline that I'm asking about NEWSPAPERS.

You're absolutely right that this isn't a story for television. I've seen a list of NV newspapers, but I'm not sure which of them might devote some time and effort to a little investigating.

People don't read print newspapers anymore. "Newspapers" now just means "online news sources".

I've been in the publishing industry since I graduated college in 1993. The transition to digital-only publishing began around 1996. I highly doubt you would find any remaining print publication that would be willing to spend any money on investigating a story like this

If this story is important to you, why would you limit yourself to obsolete media? You don't have to have facebook, twitter, snapchat, instagram, etc. to get this story out to credible news outlets.

Report it to the State of Nevada - Aging and Disability department. They handle elder abuse complaints. For example, if a bank teller sees an elder person being coerced by a young person to withdraw money, they can report this.

You might not read newspapers, but the LV Review Journal still has a circulation of 200,000, which isn't bad these days for the size of the town. Sorry, but in my opinion, only junk news outlets look to random no-follow social's media posters for stories that require serious investigation.

You're absolutely right, and I've tried that avenue. The scheming woman managed to block that. Sadly, it's not the first instance I've heard of clever conniving people evading state elder-abuse offices.
