Take them to see the Lion Habitat in Henderson too.

The kids will have a good time. You probably won't. Las Vegas and kids don't go together.

I can't believe it took 8 posts before anyone had enough reading comprehension to understand the childrens ages! Granted it was poorly written, but the info was there.

I worked security in LV for a bit...I can definitely say NO ONE wants young kids there...especially the kids.

Take them to Disney and some other time get a sitter and spend an adult only weekend in LV.

I am on the Vegas isn't for kids side also and I am a BIG Vegas fan. I would wait until late teenagers if not 21+. Go to Vegas without the kids though as that's the ticket! Take the kids to Disney as others said. If you ignore all the good advice I would stay at Mandalay Bay as they have a nice pool area or MGM. Both have lots of binge drinking going on but the kids will enjoy the lazy river I would think. Make sure to visit Circus Circus of course. It's an option for staying at also though it's not the best hotel and that end of the strip is not the nicest. Good luck.

I have to admit, I'm one of the posters who missed the ages of the kids. The ages are not mentioned in the actual post, but they are in the heading. I should have seen that. With the kids being so young, I would say Red Rock Canyon is not a good place to visit with them unless you plan to just drive around the loop that goes through the area. Keeping track of young kids in that area would be a challenge. The Visitors' Center is still a good option to learn about the canyon and the animals that call it home, but skip the hiking.

Plenty of activities for kids in Las Vegas. Kid friendly shows, arcades, Adventure Dome, mini golf, M&M World. You can hire artsy nannies if you want to go out without the kids. They have a drop off location at Town Square as well.

Not only would they likely find a lot of it to be boring, a lot of it not really appropriate for kids.

They may be a bit young, but I was 15 when we went to Vegas. There was no shortage of stuff to do even for a week-long trip. I can’t help you in any specifics because that was 20 years ago, but Vegas needs those tourist $$$, and there are attractions meant to get those family vacation $.

Having said that, I wouldn’t begrudge you considering Pensacola or Disneyworld/Disneyland instead.

We do get a little silly. You really would not want to do the hard strip with little guys but the peripheral or suburban areas would work fine. This is a city of 2.3 million people and lots of kids. There are certainly things on the strip that they might not find entertaining. But there are lots of things there and elsewhere they might well like. The Spring Preserve for instance would be good for most of a day. And Circus Circus and New York NY would also do for a good period. And then there are miles and miles of parks with all sorts of fun things for young ones.

And if you check around a little bit it is reasonably easy to set up sitters and let the parents have a couple of nights on the town.

So go for it OP. When I was less than 8 we used to visit NYC once a year or so. Loved it. And loved the traveling to get to it. One of my earliest memories is coming back from NYC on a train loaded with troops as the war was still on. It had a big enough impression on me that I still have a memory of it which is perhaps my earliest memory.
