I have made made a simple yes/no poll which is anonymous, so everyone can vote. The discussion is pretty heated on this issue on other threads, so it will be interesting to see who the majority is.

I despise the term non-essential business. I am sure the business owners who are unable to pay the bills, both personally and for the corporation, and meet payroll do not feel that their businesses are non-essential. It is the height of arrogance by government bureaucrats to use that term.

I hope everything stays closed permanently. Especially the schools, as long as they keep paying me.

I voted no. There are ways they can combat this thing without closing down everything. So many people out of work. They need to be able to make a living. I believe every business is essential to those that work there.

I have always been very vocal on here about being against the shutdown. Then I got laid off my job on Monday. The lay off is temporary until everything reopens. Now I am going to make 3 times what I made working, and I do not have to go to work. The triple amount of pay is not a misprint. The longer I am laid off, the better I am going to do. I thought long and hard about it, and I still am against the shutdown. It is hurting so many people, many that I know personally, that it goes against my morals to wish for it to continue. I would make a terrible politician, so therefore I voted no in the poll even know it is against my best interests.

That is not what I am doing. I have never cared much about money and material things. I also love to be with "my kids" at the daycare where I work. I am going to put all the extra money in the bank, so the way I live is not going to change at all. To add to it, even with all the extra money, everything is closed down so what am I going to do with it? When everything opens back up, I am back to work at my regular pay. I was being honest but most will not understand because money is everything to them, which is exactly what is wrong with this country.
