Yes, "only" 30K are dead here - in 20 days. With 300 million people pretty much quarantined. Ya don't think there's a connection? You think it just "died out" on its own? You think all of Europe doesn't want to get back to work either?
Please provide a real - scientific - factbased - alternative explanation - as to why it's not spreading as much. If you have that explanation, the CDC would love to see it. If your only explanation is "governments lie" save it.

On "your side of town" the same as anywhere else - the mask stops YOU from giving it to ME. Not vice-versa. If ya don't have it - wearing the mask does nothing for you. And if you DO have it - you'll never know how many other people you gave it to.
Yes, flu and every other Coronavirus does more ir less "die on its own" every summer. If you watched the President's news conference yesterday, they posted a slide plotting Covid-19 against other influenzas of the past. Two things that stuck out to me - one, the curve over time looks just like the other seasonal flus, and two, the chart already showed a second peak and appeared to be on a steep downward slope. Before we all go slapping each other's asses about social distancing, I would point out that the exact same trend occurred with every other flu plotted although no social distancing was practiced.

I live on the complete opposite side of town from EA and few are wearing masks here, either. The lines and security in front of large stores appear to be "medical safety theatre" because the store was filled to the brim with people and there is no way you could tell me they were actually enforcing 1 person per 1000 sq ft.

If this thing is what the media has been claiming then where are all the cell phone videos of people dropping dead in the street, lines around the block at ERs, overflowing hospital wards, etc? There aren't any because that's not happening here.

The videos we saw from other countries are a testament to the spectacular failure of socialized healthcare and communism and nothing more.

Everyone assumes construction workers got infected at work instead of Smiths, Walmart or Costco.

If you're so passionate about the cause sue the Governor and the State. Something tells me you won't do very well in an actual courtroom.

Oh, those court cases are already coming. The US Constitution is EXTREMELY clear on this.

Read the first 10 amendments to the US Constitution and tell me which of the SCOTUS Justices can argue with it?

Liberals tend to believe that laws can be modified by courts to fit their whims but that's not true. Never has been and never will be.

I'm so happy to hear construction is continuing, particularly on the World REsorts site, as all we'd need now is for them to halt construction when it's nearly done. Big Blue? Old Fountainbleu tower? Any continuing construction there?

3rd worker at Allegiant Stadium tests positive for COVID-19

but muh raiders! understand that nothing unites you and the rest of this city besides making a buck. not even "your" raiders or "vegas strong". "your raiders" will go and play elsewhere as soon as it earns them $1 more elsewhere just like they left oakland. big american "city teams" is something to keep you somewhat content, properly docile o and feeling very very united.

Is this a serious question?! First of all, and this is important because it’s the whole crux of your argument, we will be looking back on this in a year or two at the most - and as soon as six months - as one of the largest embarrassments in human history. We are talking about being told that 3.4% of people will die from this virus if it spreads. Then it was 2-3%. Guess what? Not even close. Shouldn’t this have been obvious to medical professionals that if 2% of people *who go to the hospital with issues* die of something, the actual fatality rate is vastly lower?!? Why is it that some guy like me with no medical knowledge just common sense can figure this out? Is the world really this dumb?? Now you have studies coming out of Santa Clara, Massachusetts, Singapore, Iceland, and Germany confirming the actual mortality rate is closer to 0.2%!! The FLU is 0.1%. So you’re really asking about safety? Jesus we have gone crazy in 2020 and it’s embarrassing for the entire species, nobody is immune, we have fallen prey to panic. The worst part? We might not be so lucky next time. The next virus could actually be dangerous, not the sniffles, and then what? Then Average Joe Public remembers the complete joke that is the Coronavirus and doesn’t listen to elected officials or scientists because he thinks it’s another exaggeration. That’s the serious damage here. We closed the world economy for a virus that kills 2 in 1,000 people who get it, and these people were mostly knocking on death’s door for years now.

If you are being serious, I’ll answer your question. To stop a building midconstruction has enormous consequences to businesses everywhere, but you’ve never built a building, have you? We’re building two right now. On a construction loan, you’re going to pay about 10% interest even right now. You really think that a project and its investors can pay 10% of a $100 million construction loan, a $300 million construction loan, for many additional months? It’s not going to happen. That’s just to name one reason. But the real reason is the workers, so you need to lose your idiotic perspective - all of you - about “money over people.” On our building in Anaheim, a major hotel project, the UNIONS lobbied the governor and the government to continue their work, because it’s ALL highly paid union labor and none of these guys wanted to be on the sidelines. They wanted to keep working and making money. It wasn’t even necessary for us to press the issue, they pressed it - the unions - on behalf of their workers who were enraged the governor could force them to stop making an income. So it’s exactly the opposite of what you’d think. Of course, you’d know that if you had any experience, but you don’t, you’re sitting here making stupid threads and have to be lectured by someone with a clue.
