Update on Henderson libraries. I'd like to at least return the book I borrowed in March.

Update, 5/8/2020:
As the governor continues lifting restrictions, our team is working on a plan to roll out limited services soon. More information will be coming as the plan is finalized.

Some of the branches are open as of Sat to return items and check out items (curbside, you request items online, I think).

Don't they have a book drop off slot like Blockbuster?

These have been closed off. All late fees have stopped accruing.

Yes, because book drop off slots are notorious hang out spots for people. Makes sense.

LOL. Yes I ALWAYS have to decide whether to go to a show, or out to dinner etc, or if I should head on over to the Book Drop Off slot at my local library.

In all seriousness, I would imagine they close the slots because the facilities are not staffed, right?

So books would accumulate in the slots and overflow, spill out into the ground!

The library is closed, so why keep the boxes open? The city is not going to bring people in just to sort, put the books back since they won't open until they open anyway.

Another thing someone mentioned to me. Since there are no late fees until the libraries reopen, if they do open the book drop bins, please don't put DVDs in them. They will be damaged in the heat.

It's funny to me how strict the library is there. They are still sending me a $1 fine notice from 2012. I think it's hilarious to still get it so I don't pay it. But having to renew your card all the time and still having fines just reminds me of how they feel they must do that or the average Vegas area resident will try to game the system.

In Colorado I have library cards from three districts and they never expire or even asked me to verify my presence. The districts stopped charging late fees too, they just say if you abuse it they will cut off your privileges. I gave away my library card number to people in other countries so they can read books online. I'm sure if I tried that in Vegas the library would call me a major scofflaw and bar me in an instant.
