Hello Everyone

I am currently in Irvine Orange County, CA, we are thinking about moving out of this area this summer due to the extreme high cost of living here, we were talking about going to either AZ or to NV. I was interested in the city of Henderson can anyone tell me about the rental rates for a 3 bedroom 2 bath home, also how is the health care, schools, transportation, gas prices etc. I am bringing kids is Henderson geared towards families or should I be thinking about other areas. I was told about the area around Horizon Ridge/ Stephanie and Gibson is that a better part of Henderson. Or is Arizona a better place geared towards families.

Thank You

Default Apartment occupancy down in Las Vegas

Finding a place to rent is not the problem right now in Las Vegas. In fact, you should probably consider renting a house or condo instead of an apartment. Most people are more concerned with finding a job and aren't even sweating the housing. It just seems like everyone in Las Vegas who bought a condo has buyers remorse and wish they could sell it or rent it out.

You will find the Las Vegas area a good fit if your coming from So Cal. There are a lot of people here from that area. Your cost of living will decrease because rents are cheaper and you will save 20-30 cents per gallon on gas. Traffic is a breeze compared to CA. Its all about finding the right job that fits you needs. Its also only a 4 hour drive back to see friends and family.

Default Orange County, CA - NV

Is Las Vegas or Henderson a better place to raise families. What is the health care system like in NV, are hospitals close by, are there good doctors. Are there jobs available, how is the unemployment rate.
Any help would be appreciated.

Default Orange County Calif - Nevada

It is way to expensive to live here in Irvine the city has really changed over the past five years, I have lived here for 20 years and I see Irvine as going down hill. Housing is out of this world, Food Prices are way to high, gasoline is $3.99 for regular gas, I thought Nevada would have a lower cost of living

I come from a more expensive part of CA (Bay Area) and NV is cheaper when it comes to most things. Jobs are here, but they are not the same pay that most people expect when they are coming from CA. Food is about the same, but gas is a 20 to 30 cents cheaper. Utilities are cheaper, but you do have to run your A/C in the summer months. If you downsize and keep your costs low, Las Vegas can be a good fit. I bought years ago when it was cheap and kept my mortgage as rent control. I suggest a scouting trip to see if you really like the city.. I warn people, ITS NOT FOR EVERYONE.. some like it some hate it.

high cost of socal $3.99 for 87 octane just ridiculous! im with you on that one..im from OC myself and trying to move to las vegas asap.

from what i have heard from the locals and researched online, schools are better in henderson anthem area and summerlin,SW area. but the locals should have more knowledge.

as for transportation i think you would need to have your own car. i did not see public bus as much as it is in socal.

good luck with your move!
