I am looking to visit LV now, bring some little revenue ;p but in the past I always stayed big ones near strip blvd, but I am opting out for smaller hotels with good covid practice. Once I search outside the strip area, I have zero knowledge about surrounding areas.

Ideally if there is any hotels that I' dont have to enter both 1. lobby in also 2. access the room WIHTOUT walking through ENCLOSED hallway, that would be ideal. I stayed in hotels such that in my recent trips. Because this damn corona droplets circulates in indoor space with poor ventilation.

Other precautions in the room, I can take care of myself, cleaning surfaces, letting fresh air for at least half hour before entering the room etc.,

Ideally something nicer area, does not have to glittering hotel but clean one, closer to strip boulevard and with summer heat in place, outdoor pool.

A motor lodge outside of LV in the desert is best. Just drive in for the day and then leave.

If you're going to a pool, where masks are not required for swimming, why worry about how you get in? We are slowly working back to closing up again. FYI.

If you won't want to go through an enclosed hallway, that's close to impossible unless you're in a random motel off-Strip. They exist, but you're still going to have to be indoor to go to a casino, and if you're trying to avoid being indoors completely, there's not exactly much point in going to Vegas. Also, this is probably a generalization, but a small motor lodge, even with a casino, probably isn't going to have rigorous safety protocols.

That said, having been through a ton of casinos here in the last few weeks, Aria has been top-notch. Not just in terms of enforcement, but the patrons -- on Saturday night I did not see a single person without a mask (and actually wearing it, not just doing that useless thing where they have it on but it's down around their chin), other than folks actively eating in restaurants. Even people in restaurants and bars were keeping them on while waiting for their food/drinks, and many were keeping them on and just pulling them down to take a bite or a sip.

Agreed. I have friends who'd planned to come in Thursday, and I told them that that's a long ways away. Things are really and truly not looking good.

Yikes.

Piggy backing off of this thread as I'm in the same boat for Thursday. Will be visiting from NYC. It's my friends 30th, and while it's a sucky time, I would like to have some kind of fun for a few days.

I've been self-quarantined and working from home for 4 months straight now. I want out, but I have been reading that the situation is getting worse.

I've already weighed pros and cons, and understand the risk. I also understand that I will have to quarantine when I return home which is fine. I live alone and work from home anyway.

I'll be staying at the Pink Flamingo. Is this hotel any good? They had a sale on rooms for New Yorkers, so flight and hotel is pretty cheap. Won't be a huge huge loss if it turns out to be a bust.

However; there is still time to cancel... I just hope there is stuff to do. I'm a simple guy. Just want to gamble a bit, get drunk / have dinner at a decent restaurant and visit the Grand Canyon for some stress relief (if that's even open)

I like the Flamingo a lot. Not a ritzy place but a nice atmosphere. The gardens are really nice. I have no idea what is open or closed

Vegas is not the same as usual but it's still an awesome place to get away to. You just have to work a little harder to get a drink now!

IMHO I would save your money. I was thinking of doing a staycation for 3 nights on the strip (either Cosmopolitan or Aria) with my son, but we discussed and said it just would NOT be fun right now. I don't feel like getting arrested by the mask police because we're not going to wear them at the pool areas when it's 110 outside. And not all restaurants and shopping are open. All shows are dark right now so entertainment on that front is non-existent. I've heard if you're big on gambling and visiting the casinos, they've now got the machines wound up so tight your money just disappears in a matter of minutes. AND I'm pretty sure NV is going to be shut down again by our governor soon since CA just reclosed. So yeah, I'd just make other plans.

The machines payout is based on the payout tables. They can't "wind up the machine" or "wind down the machine" unless they change the payout tables which you can see before you even start to play.

Gaming control is quite strict about random number generators that drive the games. There is no way to adjust the payout "behind the scenes" or in the way the players are unaware of.
