You know! I thought this very thought already this morning. We have a lot to be thankful for! Could be stuck in some place like Los Angeles, CA.
j/k
Everyday, I think to myself COVID, shutdowns and this pandemic sucks
but at least I'm in Las Vegas. Nowhere else I'd rather be!

Oh yeah, and I was at Harrah's last week playing Pai Gow poker.
I got 6 of the 7 cards to the straight flush. I had my $5 on the fortune's
bonus that round, not the progressive which is currently at $741,000. I was
actually so happy I didn't hit the 7 card straight flush because I would have been
so pissed at myself the entire year for missing that progressive bet.

Just saw this video on Circa, this place looks amazing. The WOW factor rivals any strip hotel, this place will do extremely well. Anybody been?

I thought the locals don't go to the strip much.

I'm a "new" local so I don't think I count. When I've been here awhile
longer, then I'll be trash talking the Strip like the best of you!

True. Pre-Pandemic, I'd rarely go more than 3 times per week, usually for shows & fine dining.

I have a accounting/finance background like you. How are those opportunities in Vegas other than for the effects of covid-19, which hopefully won't last for more than another year?

I wouldn't know as I work for myself from home. My husband "had" an office job but
since he's been working from home since March (in IT, website development), his company
was very generous in letting him keep his job and move his base of operations to
Las Vegas. He does have to travel occasionally but that won't resume until probably
next summer at the earliest. I hate COVID but I'm not sure he would have been
able to keep his job as easily without those circumstances. Unknown.

If I was in a normal finance job, it definitely would have been a pay cut to come
to Vegas and work. I think same for the husband, it would have been probably a 25%
pay cut to find a similar job in Vegas even at his high skill level.

When you're driving down the Strip in Las Vegas, NV, do you get the urge to turn up your car stereo and roll down your driver's side and passenger front windows and rock out? I say rock out because I'm an old guy who grew up seeing Foghat, Aerosmith, The Guess Who, Foreigner, etc., in Seattle in the 70's.

It's just the perfect ambience to turn it up while going down the Strip. Any others?

I saw a YouTube clip saying danger has gone up in Vegas. Is that true? Maybe it is just the strip.

I wrote a post a few months ago that got me thinking I should have wrote on the Vegas chat thread rather than the thread I wrote it on. I used to read about those mob guys when I was younger. The parts of those two videos I point out are funny. Post number 8822 on the link below.
