Some of the younger family members may have anecdotal memories...but that is about it...

So do we establish some family folklore or do we take it with us as we pass on.

I think I am going to figure out some way to tell the tale now or after I pass. But too neat not to go into the history book.
Sorry for your loss. I'm the youngest of six. Lost three with two remaining. I'm not looking forward to more funerals.

I encouraged my mother to write stories about her time as a private detective. She always said no and mentioned the woman who ran the agency. Saying, "You do not want that family mad at you." It's a shame because she had some humdinger stories!

It seems owning a sports cars is a requirement to move into my neighborhood. My 16 year old beat up SUV makes me feel like I don't fit in.

I admire them, even though I'll never own one.
Well...something else most likely they have that you don’t, a huge monthly car payment.

I doubt many have a car payment on a Ferrari. It’s liquid cash spent. Personally, I like having no mortgage payment vs car payment.

I didn't know it was that much. This damn disease is still hammering away at us.

We have only our 2007 Toyota Avalon though it is in excellent shape...trying to hold on a couple of years and then going electric.

The fourth house is a 10 bed nursing home. Half a dozen cars come and go.

We all own the street in front of our homes so no trouble with parking. We also like each other which keeps the friction down.
Yes indeed - sounds like a fun neighborhood. With that snap-on dealer as a neighbor, my tool spending would go through the roof.

My garage is 4 cars (about 1100 sf). While I have a mini-split air conditioner that helps, I really need to upgrade it to something with more cooling capacity.

I don't think these guys have car payments - or mortgages for that matter.

A former neighbor had a red McLaren 570C. He and his wife bought the house to live in temporarily as their new house was being built up in MacDonald Highlands. They divorced while the new house was being built, and the McLaren left the neighborhood a couple years ago.

***
Around the corner from us, a guy we know has a car lift in his garage - not unusual, I know. What is definitely unusual, however, is that the car lift lifts his RR up into his master bedroom. Of course, when in the master bedroom, it is enclosed in glass so vehicle exhaust & garage smells don't get inside the house.

His master bedroom actually has two king sized beds pushed together to make a giant bed, but that's another story altogether (he's single).

EDIT: yet another new neighbor was on the Board of Directors of Tesla for many years (recently retired from it). He has a Tesla in the garage, but I've never seen him drive it. The driveway always has a BMW and a Mercedes as his daily drivers.

Yes, my old SUV just doesn't fit in.

Default The LV Gods remain on my case

Unhappy that the Gods of Las Vegas are still on my case. My barely younger brother died a week ago. We buried him this weekend.

The very wide spread clan has descended on southern CA and Vegas. Basically we are spread from Portland to the North of London.

My three well grown daughters came to stay with Doreen and I. Been a couple of decades since all of us have been together.

Guess what...on the second day of my regular four day IVIG infusions I collapse on leaving the infusion center. After trying to fix it with oxygen and time the oncologist at the center tells us either we agree to go to the ER at Mountain View or he will call 911 and have me hauled there. So we agreed to go to the ER.

Awful turnout. Hit the ER and they start testing...and they find all sorts of stuff. End up with an arteriogram. And that leads immediately to the placement of two stents including one for a bad and major blockage.

So my three daughters show up for the Palms Spring funeral and end up supporting my spouse as I go through the follow up to the Arteriogram.

Mountain View let me loose late yesterday afternoon. And, wonders of wonders, I actually got a full nights sleep for the first time in five days.

My daughters turned out to be marvelous helpers. They are all substantial females and it is clear that the 3 of them can pick me up and haul me around. And they are glad to do it letting up a substantial load on my spouse.

So tomorrow I am going to attempt to leave the house. Likely to our neighborhood Japanese restaurant. Please good wishes or prayers as you prefer.
