I only got the base unemployment this week, but did not get the extra $600 CARES money. We should get this for last weeks claim ending on July 25th! I believe it was suppose to be the last one before CARES expired and i didn't even get it!

Did anyone else get screwed?

So you just joined and this is your first post? Coming in strong!

I am sorry you feel screwed by whatever generosity the government has bestowed on you in the past. All good things must end.

Perhaps the OP created an account to get information from fellow NV residents in regards to his question? He didn't know where else to go possibly? He's not on FB or other social media sites possibly??

I did not receive either. I'm not sure, but I think that this weeks $600 will be paid seperately from the regular unemployment. (This is what I've heard on an UE social media group). But this will be the last $600. I'm hearing that the extra payment going forward will be $200 instead, depending on what Congress does.

I haven’t posted in a long time and my account got purged, so I had to re-register.

Let’s address your “generosity” comment. I work in the showrooms and conventions as an A/V tech. It’s not generous to put an ENTIRE INDUSTRY out of work. My main source of income along with every backup plan my skill set allows is off the table. I can’t even work in an A/V warehouse.

I haven’t filed for unemployment in 15 years. You bet I’m owed this money! I earned it through sacrifice. Our industry revolves around public gatherings. We are being singled out while airlines and casinos allow people to be crammed together. Explain how that is fair.

70% of our GDP is based on consumer spending. You take away CARES, people stop spending money. How will that effect your line of work? You think you can’t be laid off?

I hear ya. We all just see things differently. No I can't be laid off. I am a business owner. I could go out of business but I can't get unemployment. I can go out of business and then go bankrupt I guess. I don't know. Hopefully I avoid such fate. So far I have paid all my employees 100% of their normal pay. I myself have made approximately 15% of my normal pay this year so sort of sucks for me. It's life. Luckily I was taught to save for a rainy day. Good luck to you!

Ya, could be. It just felt like not a newbie and felt to me (perhaps I was wrong) like someone looking to stir political debate. I could be wrong. Whatever. I won't lose sleep over it. Have a blessed day my friend.

You would be surprised at the number of people who never save for a rainy day and cry when the government cuts off the gravy chain.
