Hi, I am moving from Akron Ohio to Las Vegas Nevada, which is 2100 miles. The drive which is an average drive of 28 hours..28 hours going 75 miles an hour and that will be my average speed with some places even faster. I 1000% MUST make it there in one shot...absolutely no way around that. Can anyone tell me how the drive will be and what to expect please. TY

I hope there is more than one driver. We did a 21-hour straight drive from Texas and it was HELL, but we had our cats and dogs, so we had to do it. I was 55 at the time and do not see well, but we made it.
I had an accident when I was 17, fell asleep at the wheel, and ran into the back of a parked car. White line fever can hypnotize you, better to pull off and rest a few hours and make it here alive.
I have driven cross country a few times and love it.

You won't be going 75 from Denver westbound through the mountains until you get past about Vail.

I'd come up with plan B and stop for at least a 6-7 hour sleep at some point. Make it two long "days" and I would that's a lot safer. Good luck.

I-70 all the way until it ends in Utah, then south on I-15.

Your best chance of super speeding without getting a ticket starts around Grand Junction, CO, and continues throughout most of UT and NV. There are some mountainous stretches in which you'll be frankly unable to maintain a speed of 75. OTOH, lots of the stretch in UT is set at an 80 mph speed limit.

You run a risk of snow/bad road conditions from now through at least the middle of April.

Your other option if snow is a problem on I-70 would be to get on I-64 to St. Louis, then I-44 down to Okla City, then take I-40 into Kingman and finally up on 93 to Las Vegas.

I would not count on any "average speed". I've driven from Florida and Illinois to Vegas several times. Traffic conditions will dictate your average speed. An accident on the highway can set you back hours - many more if it's you who are involved in even a minor fender bender.

I would not risk my life trying to drive non stop without breaks for food and rest. Even if you are the best driver on Earth, there are many who are not. I narrowly avoided several accidents in my many road trips. Staying alert is essential.

This looks like the OP has started similar threads before under a different first time user name:

This. I'd probably take the Southern route. You can take 44 in St. Louis and go down through Oklahoma/Texas/New Mexico/Arizona on US-40 I believe. Extremely flat and should be much more temperate allowing for better MPH.

I'd also advocate for not driving straight through. If you cannot afford a motel stay, there are some really large rest stops where you can stop and get a couple hours of sleep to reset.

All I had to do was look at the post number (1) and take an educated guess this is a troll post - an odd one at that. Thanks for doing the homework. Some people are REALLY bored I guess.
