OK, if you need to walk to synogogue, there is a Chabad in Desert Shores/Summerlin, Charleston and Arville, Eastern and Sunridge Heights (MacDonald Ranch/Anthem/Seven Hills), and I think there's another one, but I forgot. There's a Sephardic Orthodox Synogogue at Eastern and Desert Inn by Paradise Palms/Las Vegas National Golf Course. Young Israel/Aish HaTorah is somewhere on the West Side. Temple Beth Shalom (Conservative) is in Summerlin, while Midbar Kodesh Temple (Conservative) is in Green Valley Ranch. I don't think you would be interested in the reform synogogues.

Yes there are large Hispanic and Asian areas as well as an African-American area.

Also, there are many Kosher restaurants near Sahara and Fort Apache. Albertsons at Sahara and Fort Apache also has a Kosher deli as well as a large Kosher Frozen Foods selection. Smith's at Rampart and Lake Mead has a Kosher Experience which is a section of the store that is all-Kosher with a deli counter as well. There is also the Vegas Kosher Mart (which isn't really great and is next to Jewish Family Services) at Eastern and Tropicana, as well as a couple of Kosher restaurants in that area as well. The JCC is pretty much non-existant, they have a central office with activities all over the city and Federation pretty much exists as just a way to give money to Jewish agencies and to have a Jewish publication in the valley.

I don't know of any area that is more heavily Jewish than others in Vegas and I lived there almost 10 years. But maybe I just never noticed it...

Isn't it funny though how when white people say they want to live in areas with white people they are told they are racist? I remember saying on an other state in this forum that I was looking for an area to relocate to that was predominantly white and people jumped all over me about how racist I was. Hmm... I'm white and I like to live around whites... I don't see the problem.

Individuals can discriminate to their hearts content. No law about that.
Those in the business of buying, selling or leasing real estate are bound by Federal Law. It is pretty much unlawful to steer white folk to white neighborhoods or black or hispanics to black or hispanic neighborhoods. You are required to sell the property not the race of the neighbors.

Practically one can check the Achievement report of the local grade school or the census data which both give a reasonable insight into a neighborhoods composition.

For a Jew who needs to walk to the synagogue have him give you the address and find the homes within a suitable distance. Anyone can say I want to live within a mile and a half of Breakwater and Regatta where the Summerlin Chabad is located.

For hispanics or blacks I would not know where to send them if I wanted to steer them to a black or hispanic neighborhood. Vegas is pretty well mixed. My cul-de-sac is a White Jewish couple, a White Christian couple, A Black couple and a Phillipino owned nursing home. Across the street is the 4 acre place of a white detroit car dealer. It works pretty well.

Smile Jews in Las Vegas

Sir: I'm sure that you will find a house of worship to walk to in Las Vegas. I've been to Summerlin and it's very nice. As far as illegal immigrants, they are human beings and we all should not forget that. Have a good day.

Upthread someone mentioned Ft.Apache/Sahara as a potential area of interest.

Wife and I live very close to this area and absolutely love it.

We're not Jewish mind you. Just commenting on the area in general.
