A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away....

... there was a plan to connect East Harmon Ave over the train tracks to Valley View and West Harmon Ave on the other side of the tracks.

Harmon Ave could be really useful, but now it isn't because it crosses The Strip, winds between Aria and Cosmo, crosses the 15, and just dies at the train tracks. Before the crash, there was a plan to build a curving overpass over the tracks, link it to Valley View, and, somewhat circuitously, tie it into W. Harmon (which then dies again at a wash, but that could be dealt with also.) If the DOT did that, it would take a lot of pressure off Flamingo, which IIRC, is a pretty constant traffic mess.

As could be expected, this plan died with the economy in '08. Has anyone heard any talk of reviving it?

No but it would be sooo nice if they did that.

Okay, AFTER I wrote the initial post, I did some Googling. While I didn't see any news on this, once I winnowed out the right search term, what I did find was some bidding activity for the project. So maybe, at a somewhat glacial pace, something is happening.

I heard this was going out to bids. That must have been two years ago. I don't see it in the fuel indexing list of projects so maybe the funding is already there.

Edit: I don't see it on the authorized list to proceed either: http://www.rtcsnv.com/fri/docs/RPT_ATP.pdf

Maybe it is a county project without these funds?

CCPW says 2018 completion date and it appears that is only the grading and bridge over the tracks for a connection to Valley View.

I wish they could connect Valley View, from Tropicana to Flamingo.

It looks like 2018 is the start date. No completion date given.

Better late than early.

Reanimating my own necro thread.

Apparently this is happening. This now ties into the Raiders stadium.

As of a video from last summer, ramps are being built. Haven't found anything since then. Anyone know how much further it's gotten since then?
