I want to get pavers in my front yard. The company gave me the quote of $3,100 for 585 sq ft but got an email from them this morning. They've requoted $3,600 without explanation. Do you think it is a rip-off?

$6/sqft for pavers, installed, is pretty reasonable; especially now when every landscaping company I know of is so busy that they can pick and choose which projects they take. A lot of companies won’t even bother with a $3600 job in today’s environment.

Yeah the landscaping companies in this city are so fly by night for the most part it’s amazing to me. I’m sure there are a few highly professional ones but I went through like 3 that couldn’t be bothered to return phone calls or even make appointments. I have a huge amount of work for a landscaping company shortly though but need to finish some other outside improvements first.

Default Pavers

I want to get pavers in my front yard. The company gave me the quote of $3,100 for 585 sq ft. They said it will take 3-4 days to complete the task. Do you think it is a rip-off? Yes or No?

Sounds reasonable to me. It's a small job. You can shop around but it sort of sucks to waste people's time on bids for such a small job. Just get it done!

What are the other bids you've received?

My buddy had pavers done in his backyard for $8.50/sf pre-COVID something like 2000sf. He got three quotes and that was the best.

$6/sf with material costs high for most construction materials right now and a small project is suspiciously low to me.

I just had a walkway done with pavers from the driveway to the side gate to the yard. All together it was about 100 sq. ft. and cost a little over $600. They did a really nice job and it only took about 3-4 hours.

The guy's name is Brad Gould.

Camaro5- You might want to take Mr. Gould's email down. Most people don't want their emails posted on a public message board. It can get spammy quickly.

I cleared it out, city-data considers such data to be TMI. Such info is best sent via the DM method.
