Hello friends
New to the forum
I’m a new employee at aria
I was hired last year but never worked a day
I was laid off immediately due to COVID
I’m in housekeeping

Just a question
Today I got a call from workforce asking if I’m interested in a shift and call back if interested

I haven’t called back because I’m not available right now

What is the on call procedure protocols ?
Can you get in trouble for not picking up the call or calling back?

Any help is appreciated
Thank you

In my opinion, you should call them back and thank them for calling you. Explain your current situation and ask them what the procedure is to stay on their list of potential employees. No matter what you have going now, it may not last and it's best to keep your options open. Aria is a very nice place, find out what the pay rate is.

Thanks for the response friend
Much appreciated

Yeah it’s almost $20 an hour so good pay
I definitely want to work there
I’m just not available today
I just do t know the layoff rules and protocol for how the on call employees work
Do I have to call back or only pick up the phone when I’m available for the shift

You need to ask them and the sooner the better. Employers are looking for people, if you don't call back, good chance they will X you off the list. Don't be afraid to apologize and say you're sorry that you aren't available today but would appreciate the opportunity to work for them. Have a list of questions ready so you seem professional and don't waste their time. Good luck!
