Hello,
I'm in my late 20s and is planning to move to Nevada in a couple of months. Where would you recommend to move to or where to start away from? I did look into Las Vegas, but don't know where would be a safe place for a woman to live?

the further from the strip the better

my preference would be the northwest corner of the valley

I think the general concensus is Summerlin or Henderson are the best areas. I'm in the Seven Hills area (89052) and like it a lot. I lived in the Northwest corner of the valley too (Providence community), it is very nice up there, less traffic. You need to spend some time here with a realtor to get to know the areas and communities. A lot will depend on your budget, everything is more expensive now than it was and prices keep going up.

Look for threads Summerlin v. Henderson. Assuming your budget can afford those are the two best options in my opinion.

I would agree that Summerlin or south Henderson are fine. There are lots of other choices as well. The first question would be where do you need to be? In general I would recommend a gated development. They still have crime but at a much lower level. There are lots of apartments that would work. But first see if you can find one near where you need to be...

I think you should clue us in on what you can afford as far as rent or a house so we can help you.

What about a luxury highrise like Panorama or The Martin?

Can a woman (or a man) feel safe walking from a place like the Martin to the strip for dinner? Just asking as I really don't know. It feels a bit deserted on that side of the 15.

It's not really a man or woman question IMHO. No one would be
walking from Martin to the Strip..that area isn't pedestrian friendly.
If you want a condo walkable to the Strip, I think the following are
the options: City Center, MGM Signature, Allure... I am probably
missing a few.
