It’s been 15 years or so since the wife and I did a weekend getaway in Laughlin, we had a great time we both remember that, it’s been so long we saw (What About Mary) opening night at the Riverside. So my question is has anyone stayed at the Villas at the Golden Nugget or any of the higher end suites at any of the other hotels ?

I’m just looking for feedback on comfort and views and quality service, most friendliest staff type thing. We’re mostly going to enjoy the evenings and hit the good restaurants, gamble a little. Going to stay 4 nights.

Any opinions are welcome.

Incredibly expensive for August compared to the Laughlin of the past. I stayed at Pioneer last time and it was not up to par...wifi broken...and river palms charged 10 per day for wifi. Also couldn't find a place to wash my clothes. I actually lived in bucket for 16 months and worked as a sub teacher in 1999-2001.

I miss the Ramada Express and the Tropicana Express, in its early days. When it had the railroad theme and the train. The place had character. I used to really enjoy staying there.

Last time I walked in, which was in summer of 2018, all of it had been stripped out and replaced with: absolutely nothing. Place might as well be an enormous Days Inn with a casino. Totally sterile.

I stayed at the Aquarius that time. It was okay. Not great. Not bad.

I've also stayed at AVI in years past. And I think it blows all of them out of the water. Has, or had everything you need: Big casino. Restaurants. Food court and snack bars. Movie theater. Very nice pool area. Beach on the river. And a year round fireworks stand and a designated discharge area. Only downside is that it's in the middle of nowhere and about 20 or so miles from Laughlin proper. So you're pretty much stuck there.

Since COVID, have no idea how they still are. Just going from most recent memories.

Yeah, Avi was nice but I think the competition of the strip is better for the consumer. Avi is Indian gaming, I recall, so there might be discounted smokes.. And even fireworks.

Years ago, Morris Air, bought by southwest. did rt air from San Jose, 2 meals per day, and four nights at gold river.. 141 bucks.. And that was for a single... Food was way above average, too.

Have stayed multiple times at Harrah’s. Although their suites are old school and a little tired they are clean. We get a suite with a jacuzzi tub. We like the private beach with Palapas aka grass umbrella ha ha. We always do the boat tour from the Aquarius Hotel.

They used to do five dollar rooms at harrahs... I think they had trouble getting people all the way down at the end of the strip. Rooms were above average for Laughlin.. smallish, but didn't care... great room service breakfast.

Just before COVID hit on March 2020, The Pioneer Laughlin resort was offering rooms for $10-$15 per night constantly on weekdays only. No resort fee too.

Today, it's a little higher now, after inflation adjusted.
