Probably a good idea for you not to look in the mirror then

But I understand you have no logical rebuttal to posts #85 and #86. Keep dancing though. That tends to happen when people throw out that "greed" word and don't realize the slippery slope they just went down.

What defines a non greedy landlords. Ones whose cost to maintain the property comes in at 2500 a month but only charges 1200 a month because otherwise people like you would label them greedy?

Default Go Be Poor Somewhere Else

I moved into a "Senior Apartment Complex" in 2018.
The following year, my rent increased 6%
In 2020, the Complex was purchased by an out-of-State
investment corporation that removed the "Senior" part
of our Apartments, and raised my rent 11%
Last year, they raised my rent 23%
A lot of my neighbours have moved out, and I have been
looking for a less-expensive option, but there seems to be
none available, except out-of-state.

"Out of state" option? I thought Nevada is one of the cheapest states already. No?

That is how you know the rent they charge is not too high.

I feel sorry for renters. Some costs of the house, apartment etc owned by the landlord may have gone up, but probably not the mortgage. Raising rent based on market conditions is just greed. They are making a lot more money on their investment now. Where are people going to live when they can't afford to rent? I guess when properties sit empty because no one can afford rent prices, it will come down. In the mean time, there will be a lot more homeless people. Capitalism at it's worst.

This is why you should own your home, no matter how small it is, you always have a roof over your head.

That would be great, but lots of people can't afford to or want to own a home for many reasons. If you aren't going to live in one place for a long time, buying and selling a house is bad investment. Many people can't afford to buy a house, don't have the down payment or the monthly income to pay the mortgage, especially now that mortgage rates are much higher than they were.

Someone must be paying these rents, or apartments would be sitting empty.

Whenever your lease is up, you should be shopping around hard.
