I'd avoid Meadows. It's a great school academically, but the majority of the students come out as stress cases and drug addicts. I don't say that to be mean, but I have a good number of friends who went to Meadows, so I've seen a lot of it first hand. Its extremely cut-throat, and not exactly a happy environment.

Gorman and Faith are great. Both have strong academics, top sports teams, school spirit, etc. The environment is a lot more relaxed - students work hard, but it isn't overly competitive. You can't go wrong with either of the two.

None of the public schools out here are particularly great, but Palo Verde, Green Valley, Coronado, Sierra Vista, and Bonanza are some of the more respected ones.

It is very possible that NCTA will become very similar to A-Tech, but it basically just opened.

I would be pleasantly surprised. I don't think it has the screen that A-Tech has. More most anybody reasonable from the zone.

Default Foothill HS Henderson?

I keep hearing negative stuff about basic HS, but what about Foothills? I never really heard anything negative.

The two big missing schools for high achievers would be Meadows, which is private and Bishop Gorman which is Catholic.

Of the Public Schools Advanced Tech is clearly the leader. And Ad Tech is probably superior to Meadows or Gorman.

It is a magnet school by examination.
yet, your info uses older reports and not the new reports...

To most, Basic is either considered a "ghetto school" or a joke academically. I can't say for sure if it's a warranted reputation or not, but I honestly haven't heard anything good about the place. Their magnet program is supposedly fairly good though - if you'd consider it to be a part of the same school.

I'd say that Foothills is average. Not amung the best, but not bad either.

However, the better high schools in Henderson tend to be Green Valley and Coronado.

Basic doesn't have a magnet program...

Olecapt, I will be interested to see your new rankings, I didn't mean to sound rude in my last post....

Really? They used to. (I remember getting a flyer about their magnet program when I was in 8th grade - maybe they've elimated it since then).
