Water supply into the Colorado River system is cyclical. In rwrnty years the drought could reverse, and plenty of water might come down the river. Or not. I don't think anyone has a good forecast that far out.

I think that there is widespread agreement among the experts that the quotas currently in effect are not sustainable given the rainfall totals during the last 1000 years as well as the impact of climate change. The bottom line is that the quotas have to be reduced substantially and then pray for rain.

There are proposals to inject Lake Mead with a combination of Dihydrogen Monoxide, Hydrogen Hydroxide, Hydronium Hydroxide and Hydric acid to raise Lake Mead water levels. Naturally, the left-wing progressive tree-hugging nut-jobs have come out against it, citing research from The National Consumer Coalition Against DHMO (NCCADHMO) and the National Coalition Against DHMO.

Where’s the trees?

Tree-huggers must be forlorn in your neck of the woods, or should I say; desert, for all it’s worth.

There is only so much water on the planet, and it's distribution is what makes floods and droughts.

Will they be able to shut it off or reverse the pumps when the Midwest experiences drought conditions every few years?
